When to Replace the Inogen G3 Columns:

Posted by

The Inogen One G3 is one of the Top Selling Portable Oxygen Concentrators on the market today. As with most things, it still requires routine maintenance, and will necessitate replacement parts to keep it in functioning properly and in working order.

This Portable Oxygen Concentrator, always needs to be in top working condition, put it simply; because you depend on it for your health.

One of the most important parts that will need replacing is called the “Column Pairs”. Another name for this product is sieve beds. The sieve bed is designed to filter and remove out the nitrogen from the air coming into the concentrator. This is the second filter that the air passes through to be concentrated into medical oxygen.

The Inogen One G3, information screen will alert you when its time to replace the sieve beds columns.

If the sieve beds columns, are not functioning properly, it won't be able to remove enough nitrogen, and the oxygen that is produced will not meet your required needs. In a nut shell that means you won't be getting the oxygen dosage that you need to treat your COPD, or other disease.

The "Low Priority Alert" will read: “O2 Service Soon”. This  Inogen one G3, gives you a 30 day alert, to have the columns replaced, before the concentrator starts to fail to function properly.

Honestly, you don't need to send your machine in for maintenance. Replacing them is fairly easy, and it doesn't require any special tools or training. You will need to refer to the owner’s manual. We offer the purchase of replacement column pairs on our website. Replacing the columns is just as easy as replacing batteries.

Your will find full instructions on how to change the columns in an Inogen One G3, in section of Chapter 6 of the user manual.

How often do Column Pairs need to be replaced? This simply depends on how often you have to use your Inogen One G3. However chances are good, that you should not have to replace them, for at least another full year.
